Barbara Vacarro

Barbara was born in Italy, where she recieved her degrees in Fine Art and Art History. She has worked in different arts environments and roles: from decorator and art teacher to museum assistant and tour guide. After several years in London, she moved to Shanghai to learn about a new culture and people and to build new experiences and knowledge.

 

 

Monika Lin

Born in Manhattan, NY, Monika Lin was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.  She attended Otis Parsons in Los Angeles, the College of Creative Studies in Santa Barbara, and Mills College in Oakland. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Art in New York City. Her work deals primarily with social-political themes emphasising cultural constructs and materiality.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at New York Uiversity in Shanghai. Previously, she taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, the San Francisco Art Institute, at various international schools in Shanghai and through a number of outreach programs in San Francisco, New York, Sacramento, and Shanghai. Artist talks include presentations at the Kansas City Art Institute, the 2010 College Art Association conference in Chicago, and New York University in Shanghai. Outreach education programs include workshops and residencies at the Power Station of Art, the Minsheng Museum and the RockBund Art Museum in Shanghai; the Oakland Children's Hospital in California; and the Greater Chinatown Community Center and PS 224 in New York. 

She now lives in Shanghai with her husband and daughter where she owns the art studio, design shop and school, Art Station 2.0 (previously Colorbox Arts Center). She has exhibited in London, Paris, Beijing, New York, Shanghai, and San Francisco and is represented by galleries in New York, San Francisco, and Shanghai.
